It is time to afford all citizens equal rights in this country regardless of age, sex, religion, race, national heritage, or sexual preference.

Marriage is a civil ceremony between two people who want to make a lifetime commitment to each other. It is celebrated by and within religions, but the celebration of marriage should not be confused with the civil act itself. I believe that we need to get beyond separating people because of their differences and recognize the beauty that diversity brings with it. At a time when 50% of marriages end in divorce, we should celebrate those make such a commitment.

I am not only opposed to proposition 102 but, if elected, I would work to change the existing law banning same sex marriages.

A woman’s right to choose cannot be abrogated by special interest groups, political parties or religious organizations. The key word is “choice” and those who are against abortion also have the “choice” not to have one.

If elected, I would support all legislation that protects a woman's right to choose
